Product Review - Pedal-Stay

Don't you just hate it when your sewing machine pedal tries sneaking away from
you when you're in the middle of a project? The longer you sew, the further it
travels and the more often you need to reach out to slide it back into a reachable
position. In search of a solution, I decided to give the Pedal Stay from the Pedal
Sta Company a test run.  The package states:

Pedal stays put - won't skid or slide.
    Fits all portable foot pedals.
Pedal fastens securely with durable Velcro.
Top grade vinyl for years of rugged use.

The Pedal Stay retails for $14.99, so it seems reasonably priced. The product
appears to be well-made from high-quality materials. The top has a large patch of
Velcro loops, embedded in a piece of vinyl that has dozens of short, pointy nubs on
the bottom to catch in the carpet.

In order to use the Pedal Stay, you are instructed to attach two pieces of Velcro
(hook side) to the bottom of your machine's presser foot. I had a moment of doubt
when I saw the flat bottom type of foot on the package vs. the push bar style of my
own. However, the pieces of hook-and-loop tape fit just fine. I had to puzzle out
exactly where to put it, though, so make sure you choose a part of your presser
foot that stays in constant contact with the floor.

The Velcro does a fine job of keeping the presser foot from moving around on the
Pedal Stay base. However, the base moved around a bit when I first used it on the
low-pile commercial-grade indoor/outdoor carpet in my shop. After a short
amount of use, however, my foot was no longer trying to get away.

Bottom line - I like it! I think you will, too!
