| Happy Spring, Everyone! As many of you already know, Chester County Quilting is getting ready to move into a larger space here in the Village at Eland. Up until very recently, the move was a great big question mark while the landlords were working on their plan to demolish the entire shopping center in favor of building something more 'modern and up-to-date.' Due to the current state of the economy, however, those plans have been put on hold for at least a few years. That's good news for CCQ! I'll be posting updates on the website as well as FaceBook to keep everyone informed. Don't forget that Chester County Quilting is a drop-off point for the ConKerr Cancer program. I’ve teamed up with the Phoenixville Area Middle School to provide $5 pillow kits to the students. Participation has been so good that I've decided to extend the special kit pricing to everyone who wants to contribute to a great cause. You’ll find more details further down in the newsletter. We're also participating in the Million Pillowcase challenge sponsored by American Patchwork & Quilting. After the most recent donation, the total pillowcases dropped off here at the shop is up to 400. Thank-you, Everyone, and please don't forget - your donation is tax deductible. As always, we've got a great selection of classes on the schedule. This is last call for the 2010 Thimbleberries Quilt Club. Please decide soon before enrollment is closed for the year. The black and tan Thangles Buck-A-Block has resumed, too. I found some fabulous fabrics from Andover and Windham that will be perfect replacements for the original fabrics, if not even better. See below for more details. Here's something to think about before I sign off. Have you heard about the 3/50 Project? To support your local business community, Pick 3. Spend $50. Save your local economy. For more info, check out their website: http://www.the350project.net/home.html. This doesn't just apply to quilt shops, but all the local businesses that depend on you and me for their survival. Please take a look if you get the chance. Happy Quilting! CCQ has teamed up with ConKerr Cancer and the Million Pillowcase Challenge, sponsored by American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Stop by the shop and pick up a pillowcase kit for just $5, or make one from your own favorite pattern. When you’re done, wash the pillowcase, place it in a resealable plastic bag, and drop it off here whenever it’s convenient. I will make sure that it gets to the ConKerr Cancer organization, who will then distribute the pillowcases to sick children in area hospitals. Visit my ConKerr Cancer page to learn how the program has been embraced by the kids and teachers at the Phoenixville Area Middle School, as well as free copies of four great pillowcase patterns from AP&Q. Many of you have taken advantage of the magazine and pattern freebies here in the shop. If you'd like to unload some of the unwanted periodicals, books and/or patterns that are clogging up your sewing space, please feel free to drop them off here at the shop. You'll be making space for the projects that you REALLY want to work on while giving someone else an opportunity to find something that's new to them. Jelly rolls, charm packs, and new fabric lines continue to arrive every week. The complete list of current fabric collections is posted on the Collections Page - take a look now. I've added more pictures to give you a better idea of what's already here, and what else is on the way. REGISTRATION - You may register for classes in person or by phone.
