Holiday Greetings, Everyone!

I hope that 2009 has been a wonderful year for each of you, as it was for me here at Chester County Quilting, and I’m really looking
forward to 2010. The biggest change for me was the launching of my on-line store back in September. It’s still small, but growing with
every opportunity I get.

You will notice a change in the format for my newsletters. As of this issue, I’ll be mailing my newsletter three times a year instead of
four. I noticed that overall interest in classes wanes once the weather turns warm and vacations and summer activities kick in. Going
forward, my newsletters will better reflect the quilting ‘seasons.’

I’m also happy to announce that Chester County Quilting is now a drop-off point for the ConKerr Cancer program. I’ve teamed up with
the Phoenixville Area Middle School to provide $5 pillow kits, and participation has been phenomenal. You’ll find more details further
down in the newsletter.

You'll see that, as always, we've got tons of great classes on the schedule.  Along with the return of some old favorites, you'll see many
new classes. Coming in January, Thimbleberries Quilt Club returns with the Village Green quilts.  My Thangles Buck-A-Block program
returns, too, featuring blacks and tans for 2010. We're adding the Girl Gang series from Jan Patek Designs featuring the Sunny Days
quilt, and everyone interested in embroidery will love A Tisket, A Tasket, a year-long block of the month with a floral theme. A couple
of new/old favorites are returning, too: Sew Crazy, where we make a quilted project that isn’t a quilt, and The Great Cover-Up, our
table runner series. As a matter of fact, The Great Cover-Up has proven so popular that it will be offered twice a month to keep up with
demand.

Happy Quilting!
Ramona

This year’s Thimbleberries quilt, Village Green, is being done as a block-of-the-month program, and will be available in three colorways
– Dawn, Dusk, and Midnight. The completed quilt size is 72” x 82.” Patterns for other size options will be included as special bonus
patterns during the year, as well. Again this year there will be no monthly meetings to attend, which means you can stop by any time
during the month to pick up your kit. How convenient!

Here’s how the Club works: It’s simple! Starting on the first of the month on a day that's convenient for you, stop in to pick up that
month’s fabrics and pattern. The monthly cost is a very reasonable $17.50 per month, which includes the pattern plus all the fabrics you
need to complete each months’ blocks. New this year: no fee at the end of the year for the finishing kit, because the cost is spread out
throughout the entire year. There will also be 108” wide backing available for anyone who wants her quilt to be 100% Thimbleberries
on both the front and back. As Quilt Club members from previous years know, everyone who stays with the program for the full year
will have the opportunity to purchase the backing fabric for half price!

There is a non-refundable $10 registration fee when you sign up. The cost of the club is $17.50 per month, payable when you pick up
each of your kits throughout the year. Everyone who joins receives a Village Green charm pack! There will be other surprise bonuses
throughout the year as well, so sign up today!

Series 6 begins in January, and is made in gorgeous blacks and tans from Exclusively Quilters.  If you're
interested in joining the program, just stop in the shop any day of the month that's convenient for you, and
pick up your block kit. The first month you participate, you must purchase a pack of the 2.5" Thangles, but
after that, the monthly block is all you need. Details on the finishing kits will be released later this year for
anyone interested in finishing their quilt to look like the shop sample.

Series 4 will continue to be offered for at least another six months
in the very patriotic American Primer line by Moda. Finishing kits
are still available for $95.

Attention all Thangles enthusiasts: Enrollment in Series 5, done in
Hoffman Christmas fabrics, is being closed effective January 1st.
If you haven’t finished your collection, please stop in or call at
your earliest convenience and I’ll make sure you get all your blocks.
Note – I am still working with Hoffman to get enough fabrics to
make more finishing kits. This fabric comes and goes so fast I can’t
get the fabric quickly enough.

Jan Patek is an amazing designer, and her Girl Gang design for 2010 is a beauty! SUNNY DAYS measures 84" x 87" - a big change from
our 2009 Appliqué Club project! The first Girl Gang meeting will be held January 21st at 6PM, and will continue to meet every third
Thursday of the month. After paying a one-time $20 registration fee, the monthly cost is $20, and includes the fabrics and pattern with
full-size templates to make that months’ block (or blocks), Kathy Savage's teaching expertise, and a pizza party each month, to boot!
We’ll talk shop, too, with advice from Kathy, discussions of what went well for you (and what may have posed a challenge) and project
show & tell.  And don’t forget - fun door prizes every month!

We’ll be creating Sunny Days with Moda’s Vine Creek and Windham’s Basics lines of fabric. Girl Gang also includes lots of fun extras
throughout the year: yummy recipes and extra project patterns that you’ll surely want to create. Please note: most costs to host the
Girl Gang are fixed. The fee for each monthly kit is $20, whether or not you attend the monthly meeting, so we urge you to come to
every meeting!

If you've already reserved your spot, simply come to the first meeting on January 21st. If you have not already let me know that you
want to join, please do so before the first night of class so I can have a kit ready for you. Special note: due to the incredible response,
please note that there's a very good possibility that the class will have to meet in another space nearby, but all Girl Gang members will
be notified of the details. Stay tuned!

Now, for something completely different! Many of you have seen the beautiful shop sample for A Tisket, A Tasket, and interest is
running high.  Led by Sally Rapp, the first class will meet on January 15th at 6:30 PM, and will continue meeting on the third
Wednesday of every month through December. We’ll meet once a month for a pizza party, and you’ll receive your fabrics, floss and
pattern for that month’s block.  There is a one-time sign-up fee of $20. The monthly cost is $16, whether or not you come to the
monthly meeting.  Of course, extra copies of the pattern will be available for anyone who is unable to attend the class.

CCQ has teamed up with ConKerr Cancer and the Million Pillowcase Challenge, sponsored by
American Patchwork & Quilting magazine.
Stop by the shop and pick up a pillowcase kit for just $5, or make one from your own favorite pattern. When you’re done, wash the
pillowcase, place it in a resealable plastic bag, and drop it off here whenever it’s convenient. I will make sure that it gets to the ConKerr
Cancer organization, who will then distribute the pillowcases to sick children in area hospitals. Visit my ConKerr Cancer page to learn
how the program has been embraced by the kids and teachers at the Phoenixville Area Middle School, as well as free copies of four great
pillowcase patterns from
AP&Q.

Many of you have taken advantage of the magazine and pattern freebies here in the shop. If you'd like to unload some of the unwanted
periodicals, books and/or patterns that are clogging up your sewing space, please feel free to drop them off here at the shop. You'll be
making space for the projects that you REALLY want to work on while giving someone else an opportunity to find something that's new
to them.

Jelly rolls, charm packs, and new fabric lines continue to arrive every week.  The complete list of current fabric
collections is posted on the Collections Page - take a look now. I've added more pictures to give you a better idea of
what's already here, and what else is on the way.

REGISTRATION - You may register for classes in person or by phone.  Most classes are limited to six students, so please register
early to avoid being put on a waiting list.  Classes must be paid in full at the time of registration in person.  All classes must be paid in
cash or by check made payable to the instructor.  When registering by phone, payment must be mailed to arrive at the shop within one
week.  Your space may be given to a paying student if the class fills before your payment is received.  If payment is not received within
one week of calling, your name will be removed from the roster – no exceptions.  Registration policy will be strictly enforced.

REFUNDS - Classes canceled by the shop will be refunded in full.  Student cancellations made seven days prior to the scheduled class
date will also be refunded in full; no-shows and cancellations made less than seven days prior to the class will not receive a refund.  Class
begins promptly at the listed time.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to set up your work area.

NEW – Please be aware that most classes require a minimum number of students.  Should we not be able to meet the minimum at
least three days prior to the scheduled date of the class, it may have to be canceled.  Although you will certainly be refunded your class
fee, please keep this policy in mind as you gather together your class supplies.  Class descriptions, given to you when you register,
include lists of all supplies required for each class.

Chester County Quilting and Kathy Savage have begun a class series to discover whether or not it's actually
possible to have too many table runners.  We still don't think so.  The Great Cover-Up will include table runners
that are pieced, appliquéd, or both.  Projects will be seasonal as well as color-themed, and you'll love having a
project that can be completed in just a few hours.
These classes are great for beginners!
The Great Cover-Up is scheduled for second Wednesdays from 6 to 8 PM, and the second Saturday of the month from noon to 2PM.
